Turkish Sea

Where to go to the sea in Turkey? Let us begin by reminding you that Turkey is surrounded by sea on three sides. To the north you will find the Black Sea coast, to the south the Mediterranean Sea and to the east the Aegean Sea. In the north-west there is a small strip of sea known as the Sea of Marmara, which lies between the Dardanelles straits and the Bosporus. In addition, Turkey has 159 islands (most of them uninhabited), 109 of which are located in the Aegean Sea.

Turkey's most beautiful beaches can be found along the Turquoise Coast, the stretch of coastline stretching from the Aegean to the Mediterranean, in the south-west of Turkey; it is characterised by turquoise beaches and waters, unspoilt nature, historical ruins and beautiful caves.

The Black Sea coast is rich in dense pine forests that descend to the sea. From the Bulgarian border to Georgia, set out to discover this still unknown coastline with its wonderful beaches and coves, breathtaking landscapes and fortresses behind the backdrop of the imposing Kaçkar Mountains.

We can divide Turkey's Mediterranean coast into two parts: the western coast west of Antalya, the Turquoise Coast, and the eastern Mediterranean coast from Antalya to Syria.

Antalya Beaches

The beaches of Antalya are definitely the perfect place for those who like hidden coves surrounded by lush vegetation.

Çaka Beach

Along the Black Sea coast, reach Çaka Beach, the most beautiful beach on the north coast. The expanse of white sand can be reached by crossing the longest tunnel in Turkey and walking along the beautiful stretch of coast from Ünye to Ordu.

Kabak Koyu

Kabak Koyu is a small hidden gem Kabak Koyu to the west of Turkey's Mediterranean coast. Despite being close to the tourist towns of Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, Kabak is an oasis of peace that should definitely be reached.

Kelebekler Vadisi

Surrounded by steep cliffs, Kelebekler Vadisi (Butterfly Valley) is named after the more than 80 species of butterflies that inhabit this natural paradise. The Butterfly Valley Establishment is the only place to find accommodation and services in this protected area, where the sea is transparent.

Patara

With its 18 kilometres of beach, Patara is another natural wonder of the Antalya region; a beach characterised by soft sand and shallow waters that make it an ideal place for the Caretta Caretta turtles to lay their eggs.

Icmeler

Icmeler is surrounded on three sides by pine forests and is the perfect place for water sports such as water skiing and diving. From the beach, you can take a boat trip to the neighbouring island.

Oludeniz

Oludeniz is definitely the most famous beach in Turkey, and in peak seasons, it is the most crowded. You can go to the sea on this stretch of coast until November. Avoid it in the high season to enjoy the beautiful sea in blissful solitude.

Fethiye Peninsula

The Fethiye Peninsula is famous for its turquoise water surrounding strips of sand and pebbles. Gemiler, not far away, is a collection of coves, small bays and peninsulas, where pirates once used to hide.

In addition to the beautiful beaches on the island, there are interesting archaeological finds.

Bodrum

Bodrum in south-western Turkey is the perfect place for those looking for a holiday immersed in primordial beauty. Here you will find small bays, caves and expanses of golden sand combined with the blue waters of the Aegean. Here is a list of the most beautiful beaches in Bodrum.

Kiyos

Kiyos is located at the northern tip of the Bosporus. Here the waters of the Black Sea are particularly cold, so head to Dalia Beach for one of the most beautiful sunsets over the Mero Sea.

Ilica

Ilica is one of Turkey's most incredible beaches along the Aegean coastline and is characterised by fine, white sand.
